2023 Cub Adventure Weekend
October 27-29

Hello scout families!  Cub Adventure Weekend is almost here – we hope you are as excited as we are!

We have over 100 people signed up to attend this weekend, so we have a few logistical details that we need to address before we get there.  Please read this post in its entirety and reach out if you have any questions.

Camp Raven Knob Address and Map

Camp Raven Knob is located at

266 Raven Knob Rd

Mount Airy, NC 27030

336-352-4307

For our newbies, when you get off the main road you’ll sometimes run into phone signal problems; we suggest downloading the directions to your phone ahead of time.  If you need help downloading directions to Google Maps, please follow this link.

Arrival Procedures

You may start arriving at camp by 4pm Friday night.  We suggest you get to the campsite while it is still daylight to set up your tent.  Never fear, however.  There are a lot of old hats at this and we will be able to help anyone that needs it.  If you are arriving for Saturday only, please plan to meet us at the campsite no later than 8:30am.  Our campsites are Crazy Horse A & B (please see this map – Highlighted in RED).  This site has Adirondacks.  PLEASE NOTE: only den mates of the same gender may use the same Adirondack, and NO families are allowed to use Adirondacks.  This is to keep us in line with Safe Scouting guidance.

Meals

The Webelos will be cooking dinner for us at 6:30 on Friday night.  All meals on Saturday and Sunday morning will be in the dining hall.  After the campfire on Saturday, we will have s’mores and Polish Sausage. IYKYK

Scouts and their families should bring a reusable water bottle and/or cup.  Adults – if you are planning on drinking coffee, we encourage you to bring your own cup as we will not have suitable coffee cups for everyone.

Weather

The current forecast calls for temperatures in the mid/high 60s and a low of 52 overnight. As usual for Raven Knob, bring gear suitable for being outdoors in the rain.  New families – they don’t call it Rainy Knob for nothing. 😉

Activities

Dens will typically travel together to the different activities around camp.  You can find a list of activities and camp rules here.
