Volunteer Opportunities

Parents,

We have a couple of great volunteer activities available to us.  Both are great opportunities to give our boys a sense of accomplishment while giving Goodwill!!!  Both events should last no more than four hours.

The Community Garden Committee at the Robinhood YMCA will be spreading mulch this coming Saturday, March 15.  Work begin at 8:30 am and should be finished by noon.  If you plan to participate, please bring rakes, forks, shovels, wheel barrows and/or anything needed to move mulch.

Mt. Tabor UMC, our chartered organization, is having its outdoor annual work day Saturday, March 29th.  It will begin at 9:00 am and should be finished by noon as well.

Please let your Den Leader know if your child participates.  Remember, we ask your son wears his Class B uniform (scouting t-shirt) when participating in Pack-sanctioned volunteer activities.  Speaking of t-shirts, we have Pack 934 t-shirts available for $10.00 (our cost) for any parent who would like one for their child.

Blue & Gold Ceremony

The Blue and Gold Ceremony has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 11th.  The Arrow of Light Ceremony will commence at 5:30 pm, and will be followed by the OA Bridging Ceremony.  We would like to have as many Webelos I (Den 3) participate as possible.

The doors to the Blue & Gold Ceremony will open at 6:00 and we hope to start serving dinner by 6:30 pm.  Please reach out to your respective Den Leaders if you are available to help set up the Family Life Center for the Blue & Gold or be willing to help serve the food.  They will share your information with Neil Raymer, Webelos II Den Leader.

All scouts must wear their Class A uniforms.

Leadership Training

Leaders,

Please ensure you are up to date with all your training requirements by the March 11th re-charting deadline.  This includes Den Specific training, Youth Protection Training, and/or Pack Committee training.  Parents, you are more than welcome to take the training as well.

Blue & Gold Banquet

In light of the current wintry mix and potential scheduling conflicts, the Pack leadership has collectively decided to have the Blue & Gold Banquet as previously scheduled, regardless of the school schedule.  That said, we will post on the Pack website no later than 5:00 pm ONLY in the even the meeting is cancelled.  No Post at 5:00 = Blue & Gold is on as previously scheduled.  Once again, please use your own discretion as to whether or not you feel it is safe to drive.

Cub Scouts Cancelled

Parents, I have spoken with a several leaders and we have decided to cancel the meeting this evening.  Some are currently experiencing a mix bag of precipitation.  We will have our Pack Meeting on Tuesday, January 28th at 7:00 pm in the church sanctuary.   Den Leaders, please don’t forget to update Packmaster by 5:00 pm on January 23rd.

Wake Forest Sports Spectacular

Parents,

I have spoken with Mike Odom, the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Special Projects at Wake Forest, and he said you can claim your tickets at the will-call desk if you have not received them in the mail.  Scouts are to be in their Class A  and meet at Section 113 at 1:30 pm.  They will be taken to the tunnel to give the players “High Fives” as they exit the tunnel.  The Scouts will be called down to the floor at half-time to get their basketball. Post game activities include a group photo on the basketball court and getting player autographs in the main lobby.
