Pack Bike Rodeo Tonight Reminder

Tonight, we will be meeting in the church parking lot for our annual Bike Rodeo! The boys should bring their bike (non electric scooters are allowed) and helmet. We also ask that the boys have on closed toe shoes. Helmets are required or they will not be able to ride.

Class B uniforms will work best for tonight. The Bear Den is in charge of the Rodeo, so we thank them in advance for putting this together for the pack.

Due to the bike rodeo, we will not be able to have a planning meeting for the camping trip. Kim will be sending out an additional email later about what the needs are.

Amanda Treadway will have the camp cards should you need some.

Have a great week.

Have a great week.

April Meeting Schedule

Parents,

I tried updating the Pack Calendar; however, it still shows a Den Meeting for this evening.  In order to avoid any confusion, the schedule for the remainder of the month is as follows:

April 15th – Leader’s Meeting

April 22nd – Den Meeting

April 29th – Pack Meeting

Compassion is the value we are discussing this month.  Also, we will have Joke Night this month.  You son will be allowed to share one joke in front of the Pack.  That said, each joke must be reviewed by their respective Den Leader.

Camp Cards

Camp Cards are here!  They will be available from Kim at the Pack Hike tomorrow for anyone that would like to go ahead and check some out.  Each Den has a Camp Card Rep that will recieve the cards as well and you will go through him or her to check them out going forward.  We will have the cards available at all of the upcoming meetings.  You are responsible for the number of cards that you pick up.  Meaning that you must turn in any unsold cards or the money collected for those you sold.  You can always get additional cards after selling your first batch.

The cards are $5.00 each.  For every card you/your scout sells, $2.50 is for use by your scout and $2.50 is given to the council.  You may use the money to pay for upcoming camps/trips/events through this time next year.

Harris Teeter has a $5.00 off $50 purchase on the card.  Great Outdoor Provision has a $5 off $25 purchase.  These two are one time purchase coupons but there are others that can be used over- Vincenzo’s, Bagel Station, Raven Knob Trading Post, Scout Shop.

You will find that some people will buy multiple cards from you if you let them know how much money goes directly to your son.

All cards and money will be due Tuesday, May 27th.

Below is a list of the Camp Card Reps by Den:

Tiger: Todd Harrell
Wolf: Stacy Stevens
Bear: Amanda Treadway or Shannon Settlemire
Webelos: Kim Towles

Please let Kim know if you have any questions.

Pack Hike Tomorrow Details Reminder

We are looking forword to the great weather for tomorrow’s Pack Hike at Hanging Rock.  Here is a reminder of the details for the hike.

The boys can wear a scout t-shirt if they have one.  They do not need to wear their uniform shirt – we don’t want them to lose any patches.

If you signed up to meet at the church:

Please arrive no later than 12:45 in the parking lot tomorrow

If you signed up to meet at Hanging Rock Park:

Please park in the main Visitor Center’s parking lot

Meet at the Visitor Center at 2:00 pm

Also, it is fine if your bring along your furry four legged family member.

Kim’s cell number is 671-5915 if you need anything- but it won’t work once we are close to the mountain.

After we hike, we will gather for a hot dog/hamburger cookout at the swimming/lake picnic area. We will drive our vehicles to the picnic area after the hike.

 See everyone tomorrow!

The Saturday Outdoor Workday Has Been Rescheduled

The outdoor workday originally scheduled for 3/29/14 (tomorrow) through Mt Tabor UMC is being rescheduled due to predicted rain. It has been rescheduled for this coming Monday morning, 3-31-14. Any cub scout den or family interested in participating should meet the group at Biscuitville on Robinhood road at 8:00 a.m. or at Mt Tabor Church at 8:30 a.m. Please bring gloves, rakes and pruning shears.  The phone number for the church office is 765-5561.

Summer 2014 Cub Scout Resident Camp

Image

Cub Scout Resident Camp will be held on June 18-21, 2014 at Camp Raven Knob. Please sign up at the April 8th Den Meetings! The deadline to sign up is April 15th and the following deposits are required – $50 for each Scout and $10 for each parent/leader. Your total cost will be $60 per scout and $40 per adult.  The cost has been supplemented thanks to our Pack Popcorn sales!

David Greenawalt, Webelos Den Leader, will be your contact person for Resident Camp. Please contact him at david.greenawalt@gmail.com with questions.  David says “I highly encourage all Scouts to participate in Resident Camp because it provides an excellent way to get ahead on earning achievements for each rank.  Since the Scouts will advance in rank in late May, Resident Camp will be one of their first opportunities to start engaging in activities for the new rank.  For example, Scouts who are currently Tigers will be able to start on Wolf activities and so on.  Also, for Webelos, Resident Camp is a great place to earn key activity badges like Aquanaut.” Don’t miss the chance to get a jump start on the next level!

Tonight’s meeting

In keeping with our inclement weather policy, there will not be Den meetings tonight. As a reminder, our policy is “No school, no scouts.” That includes early dismissals as well as when schools are closed.

With that being said, we will be having a Leader meeting at 7pm tonight. We will be discussing the upcoming events (Spring Family Campout and Resident Camp) and debriefing the Blue & Gold Banquet. All parents are welcome to attend the meeting.

International Tabletop Day
